Bell Bottom Box Office Day 2: Akshay Kumar Starrer Struggles To Touch The 5 Crore Mark
Akshay Kumar starrer spy thriller, Bell Bottom, opened at Rs. 2.75 crore, followed by a 15% dip on the second day
Akshay Kumar’s spy thriller Bell Bottom marked his return to the silver screen after 18 months. As theatres remained shut due to COVID-19 and still continue to remain shut in certain parts of India, his movie has not earned as expected. Opened on August 19, 2021, in theatres with 50% occupancy and no show in the state Maharashtra, the movie could not reach Rs. 3 crore mark on the opening day. Hence, it is speculated the movie won’t reach this mark in the next two days as well. The movie is expected to collect Rs. 2.4 crore on the second day
As per reports in Bollywood Hungama.com, the movie opened at Rs. 2.75 crore, followed by a drop of 15% on the following day. It was estimated that the movie would do business in between Rs. 2.30 to 2.50 crore, thus taking the two-day collection to Rs. 5.05 to 5.25 crore. Though it has received a positive response from the critics, it seems difficult for the movie to touch the box office number as predicted by trade analysts. Releasing the movie after the second wave of COVID-19 was considered a golden opportunity.
Bell Bottom’s production banner, Pooja Entertainment Production has released the movie in 1,620 screens across India with close to 6,481 shows. Released in 1035 locations, it got screened in 383 single screens and 652 multiplexes.
